Roughfish Removal A successful day helping a lake rebound from rough fish inhabitation.

MN Inland Commercial Fisherman's Association
This website is designed to help you locate the
commercial fisherman in any area of the state. Our
organization removes roughfish which benefits
weed growth, possible water clarity and gamefish
populations.
We are happy to discuss with you the extent of the
roughfish problem in your lake. We are not funded
by any government organization and rely on the
commercial value of the fish to fund their removal.
Unfortunately many roughfish are unsaleable due
to factors such as parasites, size, species and
proximity to the market. If this is the case, most of
our members will remove them if subsidized.

Who Are We?
Seining and hoop-netting is very effective especially in inland lakes. Some of our
crews can go through 100,000 pounds of fish in a single day in the winter. We have
many examples of dramatic lake turnarounds. Removing roughfish can be the first
piece in the puzzle of your lake's recovery. Wise stocking and management by the
DNR and your Lake Association's help is a sure formula for success. Netting can
give your lake an opportunity for other programs that follow to succeed.
Sincerely,
The Minnesota Inland Commercial Fisherman's Association
Thousands of Fish It takes a large effort to turn a lake around. The MICFA will help you bring your lake back.
